The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario has released the names of the 25 winners of an organized lottery to determine who can apply for the first cannabis retail licenses in the province.
The winners, selected from 17 000 candidates, were drawn at 15h16. Friday and published tonight.
They are largely entrepreneurs, not companies.
The two winners in the northern region of the province are Anton Lucic and Saturninus Partners.
No other information was provided on the winners, including the communities in which they are based.

Winners now have five business days to submit their formal applications with a $ 50,000 letter of credit and $ 6,000 non-refundable fee.

Until then, recreational cannabis can only be legally sold on the provincial government website.
