Russell Westbrook, Thunder goaltender in Oklahoma City, will miss Wednesday's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers with a sprained left ankle.

A spokesman for Thunder said on Tuesday that the team wanted to know how the ankle would respond to treatment in the next few days before providing a new update.

The Thunder won its fifth straight game by beating the New Orleans Pelicans 122-116 on Monday but lost Westbrook in the third quarter. After falling hard on the side of the foot, he hammered the ground in frustration before limping ground. Westbrook finished with 17 points, nine badists and seven rebounds.

Westbrook had a right knee surgery that cost him the pre-season and the first two games of the regular season. The Thunder is 5-2 with him in training and 0-2 without him. The former league MVP averaged 24.1 points, 8.9 badists and 8.3 rebounds per game.
