The Unified Conservative Party is contesting reports that another group of constituency badociation council members have resigned following a leak of documents showing that Jason Kenney's leadership campaign had been working with the leadership contestant, Jeff Callaway, to undermine rival Brian Jean.
Aryan Sadat said on Twitter monday night that 10 members of the Calgary Northeast UCP Riding Association "are no longer part of it and that we no longer support the UCP party under Jason Kenney's leadership.
"We believe in an inclusive political party that will act in the best interests of Albertans," said Sadat in a statement, saying he was a representative of the badociation.
"I ended my membership in the UCP. . . and will no longer support Jason Kenney. "
The UCP issued a statement that "no member of the Northeast Calgary Electoral District Board of Directors has resigned individually, nor has the President of the Northeast "Local riding badociation".
The UCP stated that Sadat "has no status with the party or constituency badociation".
"Mr. Sadat said last summer that he wanted to run for a candidacy at the PCU," it said in a statement. it was highly unlikely that he would screen the candidates to the PCU because of his past and high profile issues, "referring to previous criminal charges.
Sadat's claim comes a week after several members of the board of the Livingstone-Macleod Constituency Association resigned.
Sadat, who was chosen to speak to the media, said the discontent sparked by various issues has been raging for weeks, including the attractiveness of white supremacists for the UPP and Kenney's comments on the fact that women are less tactical than men.
Calgary-Mountain View Revelations candidate Caylan Ford is reported to have made comments in social media in 2017 expressing her sympathy for the thought of white supremacy and the dismissal of the resignation of other board members. administration because of the degradation of acidulated grapes, said Sadat.
But the latest scandal over the 2017 leadership race and Kenney's refusal to admit his fault was a major factor, he added.
"We still believe in the presumption of innocence, but you have to take responsibility," he adds. Board members who have resigned are immigrants.
"We did not come here to follow that kind of policy. . . we live in Canada, not in America. "
He added that the board members still wanted the party candidate in the constituency, Rajan Sawnhey, but did not know where she was for the resignations.
Not all council members resigned, he added.
Documents released by CBC on Saturday and subsequently obtained by Postmedia show regular communication between Kenney's deputy chief of staff and a prominent member of Jeff Callaway's leadership contestant's campaign director, Cameron Davies.
Last month, the Elections Commissioner of Alberta fined Davies $ 15,000 for "obstructing an investigation".
The RCMP is investigating, although Kenney has denied any knowledge of a so-called Kamakazi campaign aimed at discrediting John
Kenney and Callaway have denied any political collusion between their campaigns.
