UPDATE: 32-year-old man found dead in Abbotsford targeted, police say

Police identified the victim of the homicide today in Abbotsford as Sukhpreet Grewal, 32.

IHIT spokesman, Capt. Frank Jang spoke to the media tonight in the West End of Abbotsford where Grewal's body was discovered this afternoon in a house on the corner of Charlotte Avenue and Consort Court – located at 39. West of Clearbrook Road and south of Maclure Road – […] the police received a report from the Grewal family that he had disappeared and, when they went to his home, they discovered that he was dead and that the circumstances were suspicious.

Nobody else was home, but Jang said I do not know if there were other people who lived there.

Jang says that he has no information yet on the cause of death, but the police believe that the killing is aimed at.

He says Grewal is known to the police, but it is too early in the investigation to determine if the homicide is attributable to a gang.

Jang said investigators will stay on the spot overnight and continue to gather evidence and research.

According to the Provincial Court database, Grewal was charged with badault and threats as a result of an incident that occurred on December 4, 2017 in Abbotsford.

Records indicate that he did not appear in court on June 25, in Abbotsford Provincial Court, and a warrant for arrest was issued Monday (July 16 ).

His only other conviction was a driving ban in July 2017, for which he was prohibited from driving for 20 months and fined $ 2,000
