Vampyr adds new difficulty modes for experienced players and looking for stories

DontNod Entertainment announced today that it is adding two new modes of difficulty to its Vampyr Action Role Play, released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on June 5th. History mode disables combat, making it easier to experience the story of the game. Hard mode gives players less experience points by killing and makes fighting more difficult. The update will arrive later this summer.

Up to now, Vampyr has sold more than half a million copies. These new difficulty updates could make the game more accessible to players who may be intimidated by this kind of RPG. But the story modes are not just for novice players. Some players are too busy to want to suffer from death at stake and other setbacks to complete a game. Others just do not want to fight.

Hard Mode, on the other hand, can give people who have already defeated Vampyr an excuse to play again. It could also attract new players who like challenges.

Our critic of Vampyr praised his story but criticized his fight. The new story mode could help alleviate this problem.

Prior to this update, Vampyr is on sale for 25 percent off Steam.
