According to Gregor Chisholm on MLB.com, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was promoted to the Toronto Blue Jays Triple A affiliate, the Buffalo Bisons, the same day his father was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Vlad Jr. spent the better part of the 2018 MiLB season with the Blue Jays Double-A, the New Hampshire Fisher Cats. As a member of the Fisher Cats, he averaged .404 batting, a .449 base percentage and .671 in 61 games. As Vlad Jr is only 19, these numbers are absolutely incredible.
Unsurprisingly, Vlad Jr. was selected for the All-Star League All-Star Game. He was unfortunately unable to play in the game because he was running out of time with pressure on his left knee. He ended up sitting June 6 to July 13, but has been phenomenal since returning from injury.
More Call to the Pen
In 11 games from July 13 to July 27, he recorded 15 hits in 42 at-bats for a batting average of .357. He also added 3 homers, 7 points and 8 points. He will leave Double-A with a series of 12 games by hitting a shot on June 6 before leaving the game with an injury.
Although his father was an outfielder, Vlad Jr. played for third. After committing 9 errors in his first 50 professional Rookie games, he made 15 errors in his next 102 games between Single-A and Single-A +. In 53 games in Double-A, he only made 6 mistakes, so he behaves as well on the defensive side.
According to MLB Pipeline's Top 100 Players list, Vlad Jr. is ranked first. It's not 20 years before the spring training in 2019. The organization must be thrilled with its progression through minor league levels up to this point.

Vladimir Guerrero Sr. was called to the MLB at the age of 21 years with the Montreal Expos. He went on to hit 449 home runs with a .379 career on the base percentage. It will be interesting to see if Vlad Jr. will eventually get the big leagues call sooner than his father.
