Watch Eamon McAdam

The Toronto Maple Leafs received McAdam in exchange for Matt Martin. Kyle Dubas and the Maple Leafs' front office were looking to pay a little bit of money and they found a new home for Martin in the Empire State. Our old friend, Lou Lamoriello, was interested in bringing Martin back to where his NHL career began

The return of the Toronto Maple Leafs will not change the situation. It was not expected that the Maple Leafs would get an appreciable return. Dubas was not looking for a return to tell his mother. He was looking to unload his salary, so that he could afford to sign again William Nylander

McAdam, originally from Perkasie, Pennsylvania, was selected in the third round of the 2013 NHL draft by the Islanders . After being written by Islanders, he attended Penn State in State College, Pennsylvania. He played for the Penn State Nittany Lions for three seasons. During his three years at Penn State, he failed to accumulate solid net results.

McAdam joined the Islanders' organization in the 2015-16 regular season. Since joining the organization, he has not been able to improve and become a solid goalkeeper. In fact, last season the Islanders were clearly frustrated in its development and demoted it. He played in 9 games for their AHL affiliate, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. After 9 games he had 2.77 GAA and 0.903 SV%. It was time for the 23-year-old to visit ECHL to see if the Worcester Railers could get him back on track.

Unfortunately, the Railers coaching staff did not manage to get him back on track. In 29 games, he had a GAA of 2.84 and a 0.910 SV%. Overall, his stay at Metro West Mbadachusetts has not put him back on track.

Where is he going in the Leafs' organization?

I hope that the most recent team at ECHL, Newfoundland Growlers, get it back on track.

He will probably finish with the Growlers unless Garret Sparks and Calvin Pickard are released before the regular season. I really doubt Sparks and Pickard will be treated. In addition, the Maple Leafs have another perspective that will likely play for the Toronto Marlies at Kasimir Kaskisuo. With the number of goalkeepers in the system, McAdam simply does not have much reason to be in the Marlies team.

I hope that Ryan Clowe, the Growlers head coach and his coaching staff, will be able to revive McAdam's career. At the end of the day, expectations should be low for McAdam, but he has the potential to shine and become a decent goalie. Leafs Nation should not expect miracles, but the Maple Leafs are known for their development and could revive McAdam's career

More , if McAdam does not t pan, it's not a huge loss. Yes, the Toronto Maple Leafs have dropped a proven NHL player, but Martin has not been instrumental in the team's success. Although this is a challenge, perhaps McAdam will surprise Leafs fans and build strong numbers within ECHL. Time will tell us.
