Where and when to attend Remembrance Day ceremonies at 22 BC BC Municipalities

There is a variety of options in British Columbia. for those who wish to pay tribute to a Remembrance Day ceremony. Most municipalities in the province hold events on November 11th. Here are details of the commemorations at 22 BC. BC Municipalities:

Abbotsford

The City of Abbotsford will support Branch 15 of the Royal Canadian Legion on the commemoration of National Remembrance Day. The ceremony takes place at the cenotaph of Thunderbird Memorial Square, next to Veterans' Trail on Sunday. Participants are requested to arrive before 10:15, the parade starting at 10:30. All are invited to attend the reception following the ceremony at Legion Branch 15 in Abbotsford.

Langley

Langley will hold his ceremony at the Douglas Park Cenotaph at 20550 Douglas Crescent. The ceremony starts at 10:45 and people are asked to arrive before this time. Douglas Crescent between 204 and 206 will be closed, as will Park Avenue. There will be no parking at Douglas Park that morning. Plan to park elsewhere in the city center or Timms Community Center.

Chilliwack

The Remembrance Day procession in downtown Chilliwack will begin at 10:30 am followed by a ceremony at 11:00 am during the procession to the Chilliwack Museum Cenotaph.

Fort Langley

Fort Langley hosts several ceremonies in the community, all between 10 am and 1 pm

Branch 265 of the Aldergrove Legion will have a procession at 10:45 am from 26607 Fraser Highway. The procession leaves Old Yale Road, turns on 268 Street, then heads west on the Fraser Highway to the Aldergrove Legion at 26607 Fraser Highway. It will then be followed by a ceremony at the Cenotaph of the Aldergrove Legion at 10:50 am.

Another procession will take place at the Fort Langley Cenotaph at 10:25 am This procession will leave the west end of Fort Langley Cemetery and will follow the cemetery roads, past the graves of nearly 300 veterans before arriving at the cenotaph. The procession will be followed by a service at 10:40.

There will be another procession and ceremony at the Murrayville Cenotaph at 21405 44 Avenue. This procession will begin at 10:30, followed by a ceremony at 10:45.

Delta

In North Delta, a ceremony will take place at 10:40 am at North Delta Social Heart Plaza, 11415 84 Ave. The ceremony will be followed by a reception at the Delta Recreation Center.

In the southern Delta, Branch 61 of the Royal Canadian Legion will host the procession at 10:15 am from the Legion at 4896 Delta Street to Memorial Park Cenotaph. The procession will be followed by a ceremony at the cenotaph at 10:45 am.

Maple Ridge

In Maple Ridge, a ceremony will be held from 10:00 to 11:30 at Memorial Peace Park, 11900, 224 Street.

Mission

The Mission Section of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a procession beginning at 10:30 am at the École des Deux-Rives. The ceremony will follow at 10:30 at the Clarke Theater, followed by a wreath laying of the cenotaph at 11:30.

New Westminster

The city will host an outdoor service at the cenotaph located across from City Hall at 511 Royal Ave. The service will start at 10:30. All members of the public are welcome to attend the ceremony. A garland will be removed from the tent located on the lawn in front of the Town Hall from 8 am.

North Vancouver

The Mayor and Veterans of the region invite everyone to attend the Remembrance Day Ceremony and Parade on Sunday at the Victoria Park Cenotaph. The ceremony begins at 10:30 am and will be followed by a traditional parade of veterans.

Port Coquitlam

An indoor ceremony will begin at 9:30 am at Wilson Center, 2150 Wilson Ave. followed by a cenotaph service at Veteran's Park, at 2580 Shaughnessy Street, at 11 am. Remembrance Day services in Port Coquitlam are sponsored by Branch 133 of the Royal Canadian Legion.

Pitt Meadows

The Pitt Meadows ceremony will take place at Pitt Meadows Spirit Square, 12007 Harris Road, at 10:30 am and continue until 12:30 pm. The procession begins at 10:45 am and includes an overview of the Fraser Blues Flying team around 10:56 am. A reception will be held at the Pitt Meadows Family Recreation Center after the ceremony.

Port Moody

Port Moody organizes events all day on November 11th.

Beginning with a non-denominational service at the Kyle Center at 9:30 am, the service will be followed by a parade at the Arts Center, located at 2425 Saint Johns Street, at 10:30 am. There will be a ceremony at 11 am Monument to the Arts Center.

Then there will be various musical performances at Kyle Center, located at 125 Kyle Street, starting at 1pm. at 9 pm

Richmond

A Remembrance Day ceremony will be held at Richmond City Hall, located at 6911 No. 3 Road. A parade will begin at 10:20 in the direction of the cenotaph located east of the Town Hall. The official ceremonies at the Town Hall Cenotaph will begin at 10:40 am, followed by a wreath laying. At the end of the service, the public is invited to a Remembrance Day reception at the Municipal Gallery. Guests at the reception will also be invited to listen to music from the Richmond Peace Children's Choir.

Surrey

Surrey organizes several events.

A service and a procession will be held at Veterans Square, 17710 56A Ave. at 10 o'clock.

The Museum of Surrey will host a family event, Surrey Remembers, from 9:30 to 13:00 at 17710 56A Ave.

A procession will be held at the Newton Seniors Center (13775 BC 70) organized by the Girl Guides of Canada starting at 10 am

Crescent Branch 240 of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a religious service at 10:30 am at 2643 128 St.

Whalley Branch 229 of the Royal Canadian Legion will be operating at 10:25 am at 13525 106 Avenue.

And the Port Kells Community Association will organize a service at 18918 88 Ave. from 10 o'clock

West Vancouver

West Vancouver service will run from 10:45 am to 11:30 am at Memorial Arch in Memorial Park – Marine Drive between 19th and 20th Street. The parade starts at 10:45 and the service starts at 10:55. Branch 60 of the Royal Canadian Legion, West Vancouver, will host the event.

White Rock

The ceremony at White Rock will take place at 10:15 am at the Cenotaph of White Rock City Hall. The Town Hall is located at 15322 Buena Vista Ave. The ceremony will begin with a parade of Johnstone Road and Roper Avenue. The ceremony will take place at the cenotaph at 11 o'clock.

A Remembrance Day Ceremony will be held in Kamloops at 10:30 am at Riverside Park.

Prince George

Organized by the Prince George Royal Legion, a ceremony will be held at the Civic Center, behind Town Hall, at 808 Canada Way. Participants are requested to arrive at 09:00, the ceremony starting at 10:45 and ending at 11:45.

Victoria

The Royal Canadian Legion will hold a ceremony at the Legislative Building near the harbor, starting at 11 am

Nelson

A Remembrance Day Ceremony will be held at the Cenotaph at Nelson City Hall at 10:45 am

Kelowna

Branch 26 of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a ceremony beginning at 10:30 am with a parade from Bernard Avenue to Abbott Street and then to the Cenotaph at City Park for the ceremony.

Nanaimo

A parade and ceremony will be held at the Dallas Square Park Cenotaph in downtown Nanaimo at 11 am Receptions will then be held in the halls of the Royal Canadian Legion in Harewood, Nanaimo and Lantzville.
