WINNIPEG – Nikolaj Ehlers scored a hat trick, Patrik Laine scored two goals and the Winnipeg Jets held for a 6-5 win over the Chicago Blackhawks at Bell MTS Place on Thursday.
Ehlers gave the Jets a 2-1 lead at 3:52 of the first period, 3-2 at 1:01 of the second period and 6-3 at 9:45 of the third period.
Wool, at age 20 and 224 days, became the fourth player in the history of the NHL to score 100 goals in the regular season. He joined Wayne Gretzky (20 years, 40 days) on March 7, 1981, Jimmy Carson (age 20, 116 days) on November 13, 1988, and Brian Bellows (age 20, 179 days) on February 27, 1985, with his first match at 1:43 of the first period to give the Jets a 1-0 lead.
Jacob Trouba also scored for the Jets (14-8-2), and Connor Hellebuyck made 26 stops.
Laine scored his 21st goal in the NHL at 1:18 of the third period to bring the score to 5-3.

Blake Wheeler and Mark Scheifele each had three badists for Winnipeg.
John Hayden and Artem Anisimov everyone had a purpose and help, and Marcus Kruger, Jan Rutta and Dominik Kahun scored for the Blackhawks (9-12-5), who are 1-4-0 in their last five games. Corey Crawford made 27 stops.
Kruger tied 1-1 at 3:03 of the first period. Hayden brought the Blackhawks tied at 2-2 at 8:10, marking the rebound after David Kampf was stopped on a breakaway.
Trouba extended his lead by 3-2 to reach the score of 4-2 at 1:46 of the second, before Rutta brought Chicago back in the interval between goals, scoring a goal at 9:31 to bring it back to 4-3.
Kahun narrowed the gap to 6-4 at 13:10 of the third period, and Anisimov raised the score to 6-5 at 5:08 pm.
