World Series Game 3: Red Sox at Dodgers, live updates and analysis

The Red Sox fell to the Dodgers, 3-2, in the third game of the World Series, a 7-hour, 20-minute game, the longest in the playoff history.

18th round: Dodgers 3, Red Sox 2

Low: Nathan Eovaldi came back in the pack for Boston, but Max Muncy sounded the score to mark the end of the game.

high: Alex Wood came to play for Los Angeles and walked Sandy Leon. Mookie Betts collapsed in the second minute, but was first judged safe. Xander Bogaerts was found in a double game ending the round.

17th round: Red Sox 2, Dodgers 2

Low: With Nathan Eovaldi still on the mound, Enrique Hernandez appeared to start the game. Clayton Kershaw then hit for Julio Urias, lining up on the right. Justin Turner then swayed swing.

high: Julio Urias replaced Kenta Maeda on the mound. Brock Holt headed for downtown before Eduardo Nunez overflowed from the shallow right field. Then Jackie Bradley Jr. walked and Christian Vazquez went out of his way to end the heat.

16th round: Red Sox 2, Dodgers 2

Low: Nathan Eovaldi is still on the mound for Boston. Yasiel Puig came out for the first outing, Eduardo Nunez stalking a shallow ball to take the shot. Then Austin Barnes flew to the center and David Freese hit to end the inning.

high: With Kenta Maeda still on the mound, Xander Bogaerts, Nathan Eovaldi and Ian Kinsler have all been eliminated.

15th round: Red Sox 2, Dodgers 2

Low: Nathan Eovaldi stayed on the mound for Boston. He eliminated Max Muncy on a stick of 10 shots. In the ninth pitch, Muncy pitched a fake ball that looked like a home run. Manny Machado then came out. Cody Bellinger was called on strike to end the round.

high: Right-hander Kenta Maeda replaced Dylan Floro on the mound. David Freese badly played a field player by Eduardo Nunez, who reached the goal. Maeda then accompanied Jackie Bradley Jr. to put the riders first and second. Christian Vazquez lost, and Nunez was forced out in third. Bradley moved into second place. Sandy Leon hit for the second goal of the inning. Mookie Betts was then called to strike.

Round 14: Red Sox 2, Dodgers 2

Low: David Freese failed before Enrique Hernanez beat the ball in the middle of the field. Then Joc Pederson came out and Justin Turner flew right to end the inning.

high: Nathan Eovaldi opened the round and was called on strike. Ian Kinsler then flew to the center and Brock Holt ended the inning to end the inning. This is officially the longest match of the World Series in terms of time and heat.

13th round: Red Sox 2, Dodgers 2

Low: The Dodgers got their first goal with a walk, while Max Muncy checked his momentum on a 3-2 pitch. After Manny Machado's departure, Eduardo Nunez spotted a foul ball hit by Cody Bellinger for the second goal of the inning, and Muncy finished second. Nunez's impetus led him into the stands after catching the catch.

Yasiel Puig hit the center of the field, but Ian Kinsler failed to shoot the first, allowing Muncy to score and tie the game. Puig did not progress to the second position after replay. Austin Barnes came out to end the inning.

high: Scott Alexander stayed on the mound for LA. Brock Holt drew a preliminary walk. During Eduardo Nunez's fight, Alexandre's throw was taken over by Barnes, who toppled Nunez as he tried to locate the ball. Holt moved to second place. Nunez was shaken by the game, but he stayed in the game. Nunez then hit an infield helicopter, but Alexander could not contact Enrique Hernandez to try his luck. The balloon is away from Hernandez, allowing Holt to score. Jackie Bradley Jr. flew out and Dylan Floro entered the game for Alexander. After Christian Vazquez fell to the ground, Sandy Leon doubled in a straight line to the right field. Mookie Betts was then intentionally walked around to charge the bases. The Dodgers escape the heat after Xander Bogaerts crashed.

Round 12: Red Sox 1, Dodgers 1

Low: Starter Nathan Eovaldi came into play, leaving Drew Pomeranz alone in the office. Christian Vazquez joined the first goal, leading Sandy Leon to attack him. Eovaldi withdrew the camp in the order: Enrique Hernandez sank to the front row, Joc Pederson sailed to the center and Justin Turner was hit. Eovaldi's last run of the run was a 101.1 mph fastball to help Turner get Turner.

high: Ryan Madson took the mound for LA. Xander Bogaerts sank for the first exit, then Madson was retired for left-handed Scott Alexander. Mitch Moreland hit hard and Ian Kinsler ended the heat.

11th round: Red Sox 1, Dodgers 1

Low: Heath Hembree relieved Craig Kimbrel. After Cody Bellinger ran aground and Yasiel Puig left, Hembree drove Austin Barnes to eight pitches. Chris Taylor made a full count and swayed to end the inning.

high: Pedro Baez stayed on the mound for Los Angeles. After Jackie Bradley Jr. swayed and Christian Vazquez went astray, Steve Pearce, a crush on Kimbrel, scored the first goal on a seven-step walk. Mookie Betts flew to the center to end the run.

10th round: Red Sox 1, Dodgers 1

Low: Craig Kimbrel stayed on the road for Boston. Joc Pederson came in third before Justin Turner collapsed to third. Max Muncy finished second with a double on the ruler. Manny Machado came up to end the run.

high: Pedro Baez is on the mound for Los Angeles. Mitch Moreland is lined up right for the first outing. J.D. Martinez reached the base with a march of seven lengths. Ian Kinsler then became the precision runner. Baez tried to repel Kinsler, who was judged safe. The Dodgers disputed the appeal, but the appeal was not reversed. Brock Holt was singled out on a line in the middle of the field and Kinsler was third. Eduardo Nunez flew to the center, but Cody Bellinger was able to throw himself home in time for receiver Austin Barnes to score Kinsler.

Round nine: Red Sox 1, Dodgers 1

Low: David Price took the mound for Boston and the Sox re-aligned their outside field to normal. Cody Bellinger stands out on a line to the left field. Yasiel Puig then appeared on the right. During Yasmani Grandal's attack, Bellinger was caught stealing for the second outing.

Grandal scored the first goal on a six-run walk, and then Craig Kimbrel approached for Price. Kimbrel drove Chris Taylor on seven courses to put the runners first and second. Austin Barnes entered the game to try his luck for Grandal. Striking for Kenley Jansen, Brian Dozier came out on the other side to end the heat.

high: Kenley Jansen stayed on the mound for Los Angeles. Andrew Benintendi, batter for Matt Barnes, hit, Mookie Betts flew to the center, and Xander Bogaerts failed to end the inning.

Eighth Round: Red Sox 1, Dodgers 1

Low: Matt Barnes took the mound for Boston and eliminated Joc Pederson on a stick with nine shots. Justin Turner then went on a line to the left. Mitch Moreland staged a superficial strike from Max Muncy to put Turner in second place. Turner cut Xander Bogaerts' right shin on his slide at second base, and Bogaerts was knocked down after throwing the first shot. Muncy was safe. Turner slipped into Bogaerts, causing a visit from a coach of the team. Alex Cora reversed the outside field alignment by moving Jackie Bradley Jr. to the left, J. D. Martinez to the right and Mookie Betts to the center. Manny Machado then struck while swaying to end the inning.

high: Kelly Jansen replaced Walker Buehler on the mound. After the departure of Brock Holt and the withdrawal of Rafael Devers, Jackie Bradley Jr. launched a solo attack in the stands to equalize the score. Christian Vazquez came out to end the round.

Seventh inning: Dodgers 1, Red Sox 0

Low: Ryan Brasier replaced Joe Kelly on the mound. Yasiel Puig beat the helicopter in third place for a single. Mitch Moreland could not match the shot from Rafael Devers who was too far from the bag to keep Puig early. Yasmani Grandal swayed the ball, Chris Taylor was lined up on the alert track, and Matt Kemp, batting kicker for Buehler, was unsuccessful on the Puig circuit.

high: Xander Bogaerts was heading towards the center, Mitch Moreland was called on strike and J.D. Martinez was hit. Number of shots from Walker Buehler: 108 (72 for strikes). He removed seven batters.

Sixth round: Dodgers 1, Red Sox 0

Low: Right-hand Joe Kelly took the mound for Boston. After Mookie Betts caught a shallow line from Justin Turner and Max Muncy ran aground, Manny Machado separated from the left field wall. Machado, who seemed to believe that his ball was coming out of the park, did not hasten to take first place. Cody Bellinger came out to end the inning.

high: Christian Vazquez was first thrown on a helicopter in the center. Striking for Eduardo Rodriguez, Blake Swihart collapsed after getting stuck during a hit in check. Mookie Betts hit to try to end the inning.

Fifth inning: Dodgers 1, Red Sox 0

Low: Yasmani Grandal's hard-hit fieldmate beat Brock Holt in diving for a single. After Chris Taylor headed for center and Walker Buehler escaped, manager Alex Cora pulled Porcello out of the mound. Left-handed Eduardo Rodriguez came in. Joc Pederson swayed to end the inning.

high: The Red Sox could not do anything against Walker Buehler, who pulled the team out for a second straight run.

Fourth inning: Dodgers 1, Red Sox 0

Low: Rick Porcello scored his fourth outing of the match and withdrew the team in order.

high: Xander Bogaerts s' tilted down, Mitch Moreland sailed to the left and J.D. Martinez was called to the strike.

Third round: Dodgers 1, Red Sox 0

Low: Xander Bogaerts made a great first run to get Chris out. Walker Buehler then scratched the search. But on the first pitch of his at-bat, Joc Pederson started a home run to give the Dodgers a 1-0 lead. The Pederson explosion had an exit speed of 106 miles per hour and traveled about 380 feet. Justin Turner was second on a double left field. Max Muncy flew to the left to end the inning.

high: Jackie Bradley Jr. hit the lead in the middle of the field despite Justin Turner's hand slip. Bradley then tried to steal second place but was tagged. Christian Vazquez arrived first in a line on the left, Joc Pederson unable to take the plunge. Rick Porcello tried to advance the runner, but Mookie Betts took off for Walker Buehler's next run. Number of Buehler shots: 55, 38 for strikes.

Second run

Low: Cody Bellinger flew to J.D. Martinez in the left field. Yasiel Puig was heading for the center and Yasmani Grandal was retired to try to end the run. Number of shots by Rick Porcello: 29.

high: Martinez, Brock Holt and Rafael Devers all failed. Number of shots by Walker Buehler: 39.

First run

Low: After Joc Pederson moved away and Justin Turner left, right-hander Rick Porcello accompanied Max Muncy on six fields. Manny Machado sank to end the inning.

high: The batter who led the team, Mookie Betts, was hit, Xander Bogaerts hit, and Mitch Moreland jumped onto the field. During the Betts attack, right-handed Walker Buehler reached at least 99 mph on four occasions.
