She may not have stood up well to Baszler, but Kai has tremendous potential. the mark has not had since Bayley.

She can work, she brings a high-intensity offensive attack to her carpet game and she has an international appeal. If she can skip someone like the hugely popular Candice LeRae or the hot-red Bianca Belair is the question.

The main event, a confrontation between The NXT elite in Johnny Gargano and EC3, introduced an early strike swap before Gargano delivered a spear and went on the floor with a suicide dive. A large lariat of the EC3 allowed the One-Percenter to take momentary control of the match.

Gargano threw himself into his opponent's arm before trapping him in the Garga-No Escape. EC3 went out and launched a powerbomb

A darker and more relentless Gargano refused to publish his trademark bid as EC3 made it to the ropes, meaning that rivalry with Ciampa could have it changed forever. A straight kick on his opponent's face followed and the draped DDT, the same move used by Ciampa to defeat him at TakeOver, ended the match and earned Gargano a disturbing victory.

Gargano's character development over the past year has been as dramatic and engaging as anything WWE Creative has achieved over the last decade. No, it is not hyperbole. His arch was brilliant and will only help him stay cool and maintain the level of distress he enjoyed from day one.

The only reason this dark bend for Gargano did not get a grade of "A" is the fact came at the expense of EC3.

Yes, that means more coming up against a credible opponent, but EC3 is pretty new in NXT that it needs a signature victory or five before it can be accepted as the Superstar that he claimed to be. Remember, not everyone knows his job at TNA. Fans who do not know his work can recognize his name or remember his face, but until he gets a convincing story or a convincing victory, he's still not proven.

Sacrificing it to continue Gargano's epic journey may not be the most responsible use. star at this point.
