Xiaomi Mi A1 Android 8.1 Oreo update taken due to bugs: Report

Xiaomi reportedly stopped the Android 8.1 Oreo update for its Mi A1 smartphone, just days after the start of the deployment, without any warning or explanation. It turns out that the update from Android 8.1 to the A1 Mi has arrived with some problems, like erasing the history of SMS and the fact that the phone is not going past on SafetyNet. As a reminder, the Xiaomi Mi A1 is the only smartphone based on Android One of the Chinese phone manufacturer, and it had begun receiving its update of the Android 8.1 Oreo software over the weekend. He had arrived with the June Android security patch. At the time of deployment, the SMS bug had already been spotted. However, the update has been completely removed.

The Android 8.1 Oreo update for the Xiaomi Mi A1 has cleared the history of SMS messages for some users, which the company itself has recognized via a moderator. Users have also reported the problem on the Twitter and MIUI forums, saying that the bug appears when the Messages application is dragged from the "Recent" tab for the first time after the update. Meanwhile, another bug causes SafetyNet to fail. SafetyNet essentially provides APIs that allow developers to check if a smartphone has been tampered with, run a custom ROM or infected with low-level malware.

According to an XDA Developers report, Xiaomi removed the OTA update, probably because of the bug-erasing SMS. Meanwhile, the SafetyNet problem seems to have been corrected. The report stated that the build's fingerprint was "probably missing from the SafetyNet database."

This is not the first time that Xiaomi is facing such a problem. In January of this year, Xiaomi started to be deployed. Android 8.0 Oreo update for the smartphone Mi A1, only to temporarily remove it later.
