THE SCORE OF THE BOX
MONTREAL – The Flyers have done everything in their power to escape Brendan Gallagher.
The boring Montreal player scored in the first minute of Thursday night's game as he was making his first hat trick in his career.
The Flyers were dismantled by the Canadiens, 5-1, after their first loss on the road since January 12.
Here are my comments from the Bell Center:
• How are the Flyers just not prepared to play for a second consecutive game? Almost identically, the Canadiens looked like the Lightning on Tuesday night as Montreal scored three times in 10 and a half minutes.
Defensively, the Flyers showed no resistance as the Canadians made their way through the neutral zone. Their first three rounds of the match were goal, crossbar and goal.
• Gallagher, 11th for the Canadiens, was a real beast, completing his hat trick in the first 23 minutes of the game. He simply surpassed all the Flyers on the ice. I would like to think that the Flyers have this player in their number 11, Travis Konecny, who is also under the skin of the opposition. But Konecny does not have this type of engine and continues relentlessly the puck.
Gallagher has 22 goals. Flyers center Sean Couturier leads the team with 18.
• Philippe Myers was on the ice for none of Montreal's five goals and had already eclipsed his playing time since his NHL debut midway through the second period. After Travis Sanheim made a horrible reading by accelerating, which led to a 2 on 1 and second Canadians goal, Acting Head Coach Scott Gordon chose to use Myers with Ivan Provorov for several teams.
Regarding already next season, Myers is the guy who should look to be on this top pair and who looks more refined than Sanheim.
• I was amazed to find that Carter Hart tied two similar clunkers on consecutive outings for the second consecutive game. One must ask oneself if the fatigue begins to install a little more in the mind than in the physical. From my perspective of the podiums, you could see that Gallagher had a wide left side of the net open on first base and Hart's third goal was by far the worst of the season.

• Gordon may have considered the Stadium Series game with Brian Elliott, but since Hart has the new special trims and the specially painted helmet, I just do not see it. The Flyers would not be as close to the standings without the game of Hart, 20 years old. In addition, NBC plans to interview his parents at the outdoor game. Do not play with a good scenario.
• It's about this point of the season, a year ago, when Claude Giroux began to assert himself and follow a torrid pace that earned him 102 points. Although Giroux was not particularly bad in this game, the Flyers really need him to find this level of elite. With another tie-free game, Giroux played four straight games with no points for the first time this season.
• It may be time for Gordon to completely reorganize his lines after this game. The James van Riemsdyk-Giroux-Konecny line has not worked steadily for weeks and Gordon even traded JVR with Michael Raffl just five minutes into the match. It may be time to return to this super-lineage of Giroux, Couturier and Jakub Voracek.
