Candace Cameron applauds ‘haters’ who slammed her family photo to celebrate the New Year

Candace Cameron Bure took to social media on Saturday and shared a family photo to celebrate the New Year and offer some encouraging words of hope for 2021.

And now the Full House star finds herself taking her ‘haters’ to task after some people shared harsh and ‘mean’ comments about the photo of the family of five.

“Wow, I’m posting a family photo and you all find everything you don’t like or can laugh at. Do better than that. Please, ” the 44-year-old actress wrote in response to Instagram less than 24 hours later.

The photo in question, which was taken by Dave Coulier’s wife, Fuller House co-star Melissa Coulier, showed Bure posing alongside her husband Valeri and their three children: daughter Natasha, 22, and his sons Lev, 20, and Maksim, 18, on the porch of a house.

“Happy New Year of the Bures !! Looking forward to what 2021 has in store for us. I pray for unity, grace, humility, compassion and love for humanity. With God everything is possible. Sending virtual hugs and kisses! XO, ” Bure captioned the photo.

While many commentators have gushed over the family portrait and the smiles on Candace and Valeri’s faces, others have criticized their children for the looks on their faces.

“ It’s a very strange photo, ” wrote one person, who went on to say that one of Bure’s sons “ looked stoned ” and Natasha “ looks like an evil queen of the Disney movie ”.

Natasha, who can be seen not smiling and looking at her right in the image, also wasted little time responding on Instagram, writing, “Oh my god, I didn’t smile or look at the camera. Sue me !!! ‘

Candace also shared her disappointment with the negative reactions to the photo on Facebook.

“ I posted my family Christmas photo and unfortunately there have been so many mean comments. Do you think it’s funny to criticize someone’s children? Make jokes about them? Criticize our poses? The direction in which we are looking? Our physical appearance and facial expressions? she wrote.

“ I wished everyone blessings as I shared it in the spirit of a happy new year, but many of you came back with jokes about our appearance and criticism of what you were thinking to have been a better photo. Shame on you, ”she continued before adding that“ it doesn’t matter if you’re 10 or 90, rude is rude ”.

Candace went on to encourage people to “be better than this” and “pray for humanity”.

“Manners and respect. If you don’t like something, move on. There are people and real feelings behind every screen. PS Please don’t tell me to ignore the “haters”.

She ended by adding a good dose of sarcasm: “There were a lot of well-meaning people who thought it would be fun to point things out and share their comments, ‘with love’. Um … that’s not love. It’s vulgar. Try nice. It looks good on everyone.
