Sweet concert.

A Canadian confectioner hires chocolate and candy enthusiasts to test treats for the hefty salary of $ 30 an hour.

Candy Funhouse is looking for full-time and part-time “candyologists” to sample and examine candy, according to a recent job posting. The confectionery company, located in Mississauga, Ontario, currently sells 3,000 products and needs applicants with a strong sweet tooth to help it select 10 new original candies for its first Candy Funhouse brand line.

According to the job posting, candyologists must “objectively taste the samples” and “consider aspects of taste, texture and quality”, while following the company’s internal scoring system for drafting brief reviews likely to be featured in Candy Funhouse marketing materials.

The Sweet Concert is open to anyone in the United States or Canada over the age of 18 with a high school diploma and a passion for confectionery (and no food allergies). There are currently two types of roles available: a full-time position will require in-person taste testing, and a part-time remote gig requiring offsite testing (candy will be shipped to the employee’s address).
