CHOCOLAY TOWNSHIP, MI – Carol Ann Longtine, 72, of Chocolay Township, came into eternal life on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at UP Health System – Marquette.

Born December 12, 1948 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, daughter of John A. “Pops” and Cécelia M. “Baba” (Gmuca) Schultz, Carol grew up in Pittsburgh and graduated there. She married James Crook in Elfers, Florida, and they had their son, James. When the marriage ended, Carol moved to Marquette to be closer to her parents. She was employed as a bartender at the Harvey Inn, where she met Kim Longtine. On August 2, 1986, the couple married Skandia and made Harvey their home. Over the years, Carol worked at Taco Bell and Phillips 66 Station, before starting a long career at ShopKo, where she held various positions from 1997 until the store closed. She was the helpful and friendly jewelry counter consultant and sometimes greeted customers at the checkout. An infinitely kind, generous and caring woman, Carol was a warm light in the lives of all who knew her. She loved to crochet, play bingo, decorate for Christmas, and take care of her flowers and tomatoes. However, the moments that have given him the most satisfaction and fulfillment are those spent with his family and grandchildren.

Loving wife, mother and grandmother, Carol is survived by her 35 year husband Kim; his son, James (Angela) Crook II of Tampa, Florida; her grandchildren, Cecelia, Breanna and Madelyn; her stepfather, Gerald “Jerry” Longtine by Marquette; in-laws, Bill (Rhonda) Longtine, Pat (Elmer) Hollinshead, Lisa (Tim) Miller and Lora (Don) Houghton; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Carol was predeceased by two young daughters; brothers, Tom Leaver and Bill (late Joan) Leaver; and stepmother, JoAnne Longtine.
