Carrie Underwood, John Legend Spread Peace in ‘Hallelujah’ Video

Carrie Underwood and John Legend provide comfort in the video for their gorgeous duo, “Hallelujah”.

The video shows the Grammy Award winners caught in a winter snowstorm, seeking refuge in an abandoned music hall in the middle of the forest. The legend takes place at the piano where a flock of white doves – which represent symbols of love and peace – sits atop, and Underwood soon finds it, their words as warm as the fire burning in the fireplace as they sing to hold on to hope and allow the spirit of love and Christmas to last all year.

But the singers are not alone for long, as a group of vagabonds are drawn to the music and the warm atmosphere. They enter the room with lit candles that survived the storm as the two sing, “May the world stop / The church bells are ringing / A silent night as the angels sing / Hallelujah, Hallelujah / May the magic heat the air by moonlight / Hear the choirs join in singing everywhere / Alleluia,” their voices intertwine in a delicate dance that hovers like an echo in the cold winter air.

“Hallelujah”, which Legend co-wrote with Toby Gad, is featured on Underwood’s vacation album, My present. The chart-topping project includes original songs “Let There Be Peace” and “Sweet Baby Jesus” as well as classics such as “O Holy Night”, “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” and “Little Drummer Boy” where the superstar sings with his five – year old son, Isaiah.

Underwood will also star in the HBO Max special. My gift: a Christmas special from Carrie Underwood, premiered on December 3. Legend and Isaiah should appear.
