We had already told you just about everything there was to know about the Google Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL, and Google itself even confirmed – accidentally – their existence. We now have the first hands on an image of new third-party cases for phones …
It is not surprising at all that Google's different partners "Made for Google" are working on cases for Pixel 3a, but this is the first time we've seen one in the flesh. These are in particular the models Case-Mate – "Tough Clear" for Pixel 3a and "Twinkle" for Pixel 3a XL.
There is not much new to learn here. In the picture, you can see that these two cases are certified "Made for Google", but that's not surprising given that Case-Mate is already processing other Pixel cases. These cases also seem to confirm even more the Pixel 3a name of the new phone, even if we needed it.
Finally, and perhaps with the most interest, we can confirm that the picture of these two cases comes from a retailer who sells phones on Verizon, but not T-Mobile. This would seem to corroborate an Android police report earlier this year that the Pixel 3a would be sold on Verizon, but does not speak exactly to T-Mobile's side.
In other third-party news, a recent leak seemed to point to the new mid-range pixels in a pair of cases that appeared to be manufactured by Tech21. However, it was unclear exactly what the case was, and the actual restitution of the phones was rather innocuous.
A recent tease from Google says that we will see the new phones for the first time officially at Google I / O 2019. The exact date given by Google is May 7, and it looks like some sort of Avengers is linked.
