Catawba has also been recognized as:

  • # 5 in Best Undergraduate Education
  • # 5 in the most innovative schools
  • # 6 in Best Colleges for Veterans
  • # 12 in Top Performers on Social Mobility
  • # 26 in schools at the best value for money

“Our growing reputation reflects our continued determination to create a premier, student-centered university experience,” said Dr. David P. Nelson, President of Catawba College. “These rankings and other accolades with objective measures recognize the strength of a Catawba degree.”

The prestigious classification in the undergraduate education category recognizes institutions where faculty and administrators are committed to providing high quality education.

Colleges at the forefront of academics are recognized on the list of most innovative schools.

The “Best Colleges for Veterans” ranking is awarded to schools that have reported on their enrollment and benefits to Veterans and active service members as part of the News from the United States’ annual statistical survey of undergraduate schools.

Catawba also secured a spot on the US News and World Report’s Best Colleges Social mobility list, which measures the degree of success of students graduating from institutions that have received Pell scholarships, most of whom come from families with adjusted gross income less than $ 50,000.

Best Value rankings assess an institution’s academic quality and its net cost of attendance after the average level of need-based financial aid. The higher the quality of the program and the lower the cost, the better the value.

The 37th edition of US News and World Report’s Best Colleges the rankings assessed 1,466 US institutions granting bachelor’s degrees on 17 measures of academic quality.

Rankings are based on nine broad categories, including graduation and retention rates, social mobility, graduation rate, undergraduate academic reputation, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources per student, the average alumni donation rate and graduate debt.
