Catt Sadler warns of ‘relentless’ Delta variant after contracting COVID while fully vaccinated

We may be out of quarantine, but we are not out of the pandemic.

As exciting as it may be to see Americans getting vaccinated and the country opening up again, the coronavirus is far from over. While some parts of the world still suffer greatly from the lack of vaccine technology and vaccines, new variants of the disease are emerging in the United States and spreading even more easily than the original strain.

While the vaccine should protect against currently known variants (according to the CDC website), more breakthrough cases have recently been reported in people who have been fully vaccinated. One of those cases is the entertainment reporter Catt sadler, who took to Instagram Tuesday to notify subscribers of the Delta variant.

She wrote:

“This is important. READ ME:
I am fully vaccinated and have the Covid.
I am telling you this so that you understand that the pandemic is not over at all. Delta is relentless and very contagious and has seized [sic] from myself after being vaccinated. I was caring for someone who had contracted the Covid (although at the time we thought it was just the flu) – so I was in close contact with the virus, but I was wearing a mask , and once again I am fully vaccinated. I assumed I would be fine. Well, I am not.

The 46-year-old continued:

“I am one of the many revolutionary cases that we see more and more every day. They said “you shouldn’t have severe symptoms at least” – well mine aren’t mild. Two days of fever now. The throbbing head. Extreme size. Even a little weird pus coming out of my eye. Severe fatigue; no energy to even get out of bed. If you are not vaccinated and wearing a mask I assure you that you do not want to feel like this and not only will you end up getting sick you will pass it on to others (like in my case – I have this from someone who has not been vaccinated: /) ”

For the record, unvaccinated people are “factories of potential variants,” infectious disease expert says CNN. While it’s clear that anyone can get a breakthrough case, unvaccinated people are the perfect host for the disease to mutate, replicate, and spread to someone else – like Catt. (Tell your anti-vax loved ones that, if you think it might help.)

the IS! New veteran concluded his post with a few tips:

“If you are vaccinated, don’t let your guard down. If you are in a crowd or indoors in public, I highly recommend that you take the extra precaution of wearing a mask. I am not MD but I am here to remind you that the vaccine is not complete [sic] proof. ** Vaccines reduce your chances of hospitalization and death, but you can still catch this thing. So keep protecting yourself. I love you guys and appreciate my caring friends and family so much.
Thanks for the goodies! ”

Ugh. We know we all wish COVID was over already, but it’s clear that there are still valid concerns about the disease. We hope everyone takes this message to heart and continues to be as careful and careful as possible!
