CBS launched an internal review after Sharon Osbourne clashed with co-host Sheryl Underwood over Osbourne’s support for former “Good Morning Britain” host Piers Morgan after his exit from the show.
“We are committed to creating a diverse, inclusive and respectful workplace,” CBS said in a statement to The Hill. “All matters relating to the Wednesday episode of ‘The Talk’ are currently under internal review.”
Part of Wednesday’s episode grew tense after Underwood asked Osbourne what she would say to those who viewed Osbourne’s support for Morgan as racist.
“I even feel like I’m about to be put in the electric chair because I have a friend who a lot of people think of as a racist, which makes me a racist. And for me, at 68, having to turn around and say, “I’m not a racist” – what does that have to do with me? “Said Osbourne.” How can I be racist towards someone? How can I be racist towards anyone or anything in my life? How can I? ”
Underwood calmly led the show to a break. When the show returned, Osbourne asked Underwood to find out what racist Morgan’s past comments and behavior were.

Morgan then stormed the show on Tuesday after a fellow presenter confronted him about the remarks. Morgan left the show later today.
After Morgan was released, Osbourne tweeted, “@piersmorgan I’m with you. I stand by you. People forget that you are being paid for your opinion and that you are just telling your truth. ”

When the conversation returned to “The Talk,” Osbourne repeatedly insisted on Underwood as to why Morgan’s actions were racist.
“I’ll ask you again, Sheryl. I asked you during the break. I ask you again, and don’t try to cry because if anyone has to cry it should be me, ”Osbourne said. “Tell me where you heard him say. Educate me. Tell me when you heard him say racist things and educate me. Tell me!”
Underwood then calmly explained that she was not directly accusing Osbourne of being racist, but that she felt Morgan had been racist towards Meghan in her position. The segment then cooled off when co-hosts Elaine Welteroth and Amanda Kloots joined the discussion.
Osbourne apologized for the exchange on Twitter on Friday after a backlash.
“To anyone of color that I have offended and / or to anyone who feels confused or disappointed with what I have said, I am so sorry,” she said. “I panicked, I felt blind, I got on the defensive and I let my fear and horror of being accused of being racist take over.”

Morgan asked Friday that “The Talk” apologize to Osbourne for the meeting.
“Sharon was ashamed and intimidated to apologize for defending me against colleagues who accuse me of racism because I don’t believe Meghan Markle’s bullshit,” Morgan tweeted. “This is where we came to be. I demand an apology from those bullies at @TheTalkCBS for their shameful insults against ME. ”
