The CDC will announce new guidelines as of Thursday on what fully vaccinated Americans can do, including allowing small gatherings indoors with other vaccinated people, Politico reports.
Dr Anthony Fauci, chief medical adviser to President Biden, presented an overview of the roadmap for returning to somewhat normal life on Monday.
“I use the example of a girl from out of town who is double vaccinated, and a double vaccinated husband and wife, and maybe a neighbor next door, who, you know, is doubly vaccinated, “Dr Fauci told the White House. COVID-19 working group press conference Monday.
“Small gatherings in people’s house, I think you can clearly feel that the risk, the relative risk, is so low that you wouldn’t have to wear a mask, that you could have a good social gathering at home. “

Dr Rochelle Walensky, the head of the CDC, did not say when the new guidelines would be released, but said the CDC was “looking forward to releasing it soon.”
While a small indoor gathering with other vaccinated people isn’t the party most Americans hope for, this is the first time the Biden administration has signaled that it is ready to ease restrictions.
Despite this, Dr Walensky warned Americans not to be complacent about new variants and tens of thousands of new cases every day.
“I really want to keep an eye out that our cases are increasing right now. Slightly, but they are,” Dr Walensky said on Monday. “And so the point is not to kind of open up travel, to open things up because we are stepping up vaccination.”

The revamped schedule is two months ahead of schedule.
The United States has vaccinated 78.6 million people and distributed more than 100 million vaccines, according to the CDC.
