Chad Wheeler’s ex-girlfriend said on Wednesday that the former NFL offensive lineman should “definitely” be in jail after allegedly assaulting her when she refused to bow to him.

Alleah Taylor detailed Wheeler’s alleged assault in an interview with “CBS This Morning”. Taylor said she and Wheeler dated for about six months before what the former Seattle Seahawks and New York Giants player claimed was a “manic episode.”

Taylor said the assault took place on January 22. She said he knew something was wrong because Wheeler, who had long hair while playing soccer, shaved his head. Taylor said that Wheeler “broke in a dark place” and told him to “bow down” to her; when she refused, things got worse.

“Him, he got up. And he told me to bow. And I asked him why. And he didn’t answer. He just told me to bow down. And I told him. no. And he immediately grabbed my neck. And that’s where it started, “she said, adding that Wheeler had strangled her and she had passed out twice.

“I had touched my face. And I looked down, and there was – there was blood on my hand. … I remember getting up and running to the bathroom. Chad was standing by the bed, near the door. And he was sipping his smoothie and was, like, “Wow, you are, you are still alive.”

Taylor said the 300-pound, 6-foot-7 former lineman should “definitely” be serving jail time.

“Yes. Yes. I really think he should,” she said. “I have to say that the hardest part of it all wasn’t the surgeries. It was none of those things. It was getting a call from my niece and nephews. … They thought they had lost me. And the pain their voice. I will never forget this. I will never forget this. “

She added that she was “extremely grateful” to be alive after the incident.

“I really feel like God blessed me with another chance. … and I want to try to use the time that I have had the chance … to help other people. And to pass the story. And making sure people don’t do it don’t feel lonely. And that it does not happen again. “

Wheeler was arrested but not before a fight, TMZ Sports reported last week, citing police documents. Police reportedly described Wheeler as uncooperative and a Taser that was deployed had “little or no effect”. He was charged with first degree domestic violence, unlawful imprisonment and resisting arrest. He has pleaded not guilty to these charges.
