Just a year after his split from the Dallas Cowboys, Jason Garrett is back in the mix for a head coaching job in the NFL.
Garrett, who just finished his first season with the New York Giants as offensive coordinator, is being considered to replace Anthony Lynn in Los Angeles, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.
The Chargers, who sacked Lynn on Monday morning, requested an interview with Garrett on Monday night.

The Chargers fired Lynn after four years despite his four-game winning streak to end the season. Lynn has gone 33-31 in his career with the team, but 12-20 in the past two seasons.
Jason Garrett joins the Giants after a long stint with the Cowboys
Garrett spent a decade with the Cowboys and racked up an 85-67 overall record before being sacked after last season.
Despite leading the Cowboys to three NFC East titles and winning the Associated Press Coach of the Year award in 2016, Garrett only made the playoffs three times and only went 2-3 in the playoffs.
When Cowboys owner Jerry Jones changed gears and hired Mike McCarthy, Garrett landed with Joe Judge and the Giants.
New York went just 6-10 and placed second to last in the league in yards per game and points per game, the Chargers apparently believe Garrett is ready for another team header .
