Moore, 24, is accused of killing Lorvens Florestal, a freshman CSU football player, and injuring two other people in an August 29 early morning shootout at a Risher Street residence, located just off US Highway 17 in Charleston, according to Charleston Police Sgt. Elisabeth Wolfsen.

Police officers from Charleston were first sent to the house that night for a disturbance, Wolfsen said, but heard several shots ringing out when they arrived at the scene.

A response officer wrote in an incident report that he saw several people flee the house as he approached. No one could tell him clearly if anyone had been hurt, but he soon found Florestal lying face down in front of the porch. The officer attempted to provide first aid but was pronounced dead at the scene, the report said.

Two other victims, a man and a woman, were also shot and wounded. They were treated in a hospital in the region.

Florestal was a defensive end from Delray Beach, Fla., And had not yet played in a game for CSU at the time of his death.

Moore was arrested by officers from the Charleston Police Department, North Charleston Police Department and the US Marshals Task Force, Wolfsen said.

A court clerk said on Oct. 8 that Moore had waived his right to a bail hearing.

Police continue to investigate the shooting, Wolfsen said.
