Manchester United beat Chelsea 2-0 at Stamford Bridge on Monday night to join the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

A goal in the first half and assistance from Paul Pogba brought the visiting team before half-time. Chelsea fans expressed their displeasure with manager Maurizio Sarri as the match was heading for the full-time match.

After a frantic quarterback, Pedro de Chelsea forced Sergio Romero to make a good save before Gonzalo Higuain raised the ball over the far post from the center of Cesar Azpilicueta.

End-to-end action continued and Manchester United took first place just 30 minutes after Ander Herrera expertly led Pogba's center past Kepa Arrizabalaga for Chelsea.

Paul Pogba scored 2-0 on the eve of half-time, scoring a perfect cross for Marcus Rashford, after playing against the English international on the right flank with a passing ball and scoring a decisive pass in the surface of Chelsea.

Chelsea had legitimate reasons to claim a booking on Nemanja Matic – already on a yellow card – which was dismissed early in the second half after the late sluggish midfielder's challenge knocked down N 'Golo Kante.

The hosts tried unsuccessfully to score a goal to return in force, but none of them came as slogans of "sacked in the morning" aimed at Sarri burst in the second half while Chelsea had not managed to defeat United.
