Minister Larraín pointed out that the 93% reduction in gasoline would be at the top of what the Fuel Stabilization Mechanism, the Mepco, allows and that the decline will be maintained for at least two weeks.
"I can confirm that we are going to have a drop in gasoline prices of 93 and 95 and liquefied gas this week." A decline that in some cases will be above what Mepco allows, "he said.
In addition, he recalled that the government was studying changes to the current system, which he described as "perfectible". "
" this should not be done for a while at any time. Another, this should be a study process, concerned about the effects it would have on the Chilean pocket, but also understand that we have good news, with discounts at least this week and the next "Andrés Solimano, economist and president of the International Center for Globalization and Development, said that despite positive estimates formulated by the executive, prices will likely continue to rise.
"With this fund that the l 39; Chilean state has a little stabilized prices, but I do not see a short-term period that will decline. Therefore, the open question is what is the durability of this low level of announced benzine, "he said.
Jorge Hermann, economist and director of Hermann Consultores, said that at least for a few days, the number of prices of some fuels, although the scenario for the coming weeks is uncertain.
"In the week ahead, gasoline will decline again due to the sharp drop in gasoline on international markets, around 4.5%, "he said.
The government says it is aware of the complexity of this year due to the steady increase in the number of fuels. It therefore badyzes the measures taken to improve the situation, without, however, setting a precise deadline.
