Global Peace Index 2018, which ranks the main nations of the world as they are safe. The clbadification is determined by 23 factors, including the rate of homicides, political terror and deaths due to internal conflict.
For the eleventh consecutive year, Iceland has been ranked as the safest place in the world. With nearly 300,000 people, Iceland's crime rate is tiny, with only 1.8 murders per 100,000 people a year. That's about a third of the homicide rate in the United States.
Most of the countries that were at the top of the peace index were Westerners, although a handful of developed economies in Asia, as well as small island nations, ranked [19659003] The peace index ranks the countries from largest to smallest, so the lower the number, the more secure the country will be.
