Although early weather reports confirmed the entry of a frontal system with temporary characteristics to the agglomeration, this would have finally been weakened.
According to the latest forecasts, it is very unlikely that it will rain in the agglomeration of La Serena. Coquimbo, since the rainfall will be concentrated in the southern area of the region.
The latest alert, issued by the CEAZA Meteorological Center, indicates that the arrival of a frontal system is planned in the Coquimbo area in the afternoon of Sunday, July 1, which will affect rainfall towards the province of Choapa, concentrated towards the coastal area and the valleys to the west of Illapel, as well as to the coast of the province of Limarí.
However, this system will affect winds to other areas not affected by rainfall, which would be moderate to strong, mainly coastal areas south of the city of Huasco, such as Chañaral de Aceituno and Carrizalillo, as well as Punta de Choros, on the coast of the municipality of La Higuera, as well as valleys that are south of Vallenar, such as Domeyko, Cachiyuyo, Incahuasi and north of La Higueracomo Punta Colorada, which would allow the probable development of storms of dust.
For its part, the mountain range of the two regions are waiting for strong winds from Saturday, June 30.
