A large festival atmosphere has marked Punta Arenas in recent days, allowing hundreds of emerging, self – taught and professional artists to publicize their talents and to be better known in the city.
First of all, we must emphasize the decision of the local municipality to reissue the Vecinal Cantar Festival, an event that has not taken place since 2007. For this, it was supported by the Union Communale Hernando de Magallanes and the Communal Union of Punta Arenas. Simultaneously and in another scenario, the Student Folk Festival in Patagonia was held, an artistic event that celebrated its 25 years of existence. In this contest, 26 paintings that showed great cultural diversity in dance and song participated.
Hundreds of children and young people participated in the various forums of this festival, involving soloists, musical groups, groups, choirs and orchestras. in addition to folk dance groups, not only from the region but also from other localities of Chile and Argentina.
This is a major effort on the part of its organizers, but it is more than offset by the high interest that demonstrates the educational communities to participate and because it is presented with a good script for that the early talent of children and young people has a place in our city.
As in every educational institution, you must continue to promote and train talented children and young people, Punta Arenas must create spaces adapted to show his artistic evolution and be recognized by his peers and the public, in general.
