Eleven pregnant women who underwent a Viagra study in the Netherlands to improve the performance of their placentas ended up losing their babies.
Women had received a dose of sildenafil, the drug sold under the brand name Viagra and used in cases of erectile dysfunction, to improve blood flow through the placenta, as the growth of their babies was severely limited in the Uterus.

The study was conducted in 10 hospitals in the Netherlands and involved 183 women, but 93 received the drug as part of a trial.
