Huawei will award $ 20,000 to a winner of a mobile photo contest

The Chinese Technology Society Huawei launched the call for its annual Next-Image Contest, and this year Ecuador is one of 90 countries that can participate.

This event is organized in collaboration with the International Center of Photography institute dedicated to the preservation of the historical memory of humanity and visual culture through photography.

For this year, they opened six categories to which it is possible to participate: & nbsp; Good Night & nbsp;, which is the space reserved at night photographs or captured in low light conditions; & # 39; Hello life! dedicated to everyday photographs that inspire different emotions; & # 39; Faces & # 39 ;, which is the space for & # 39; selfies & # 39; or photographic portraits; " Check-In ", for tourist photographs, new places or new experiences; & # 39; Storyboard & nbsp;, which consists of stories told or stories developed in a composition of 9 images; and " Timeline ", consisting of stories told in videos not exceeding 30 seconds

Of all participants, 500 finalists are selected, whose photos are then judged by a composed jury. by visual artists and personalities from the world of photography.

The jury is composed of Mark Lubel, executive director of the ICP; Liu Heung Shing, Pulitzer Prize photojournalist and founder of the Shanghai Photography Center; Karin Rehn-Kaufmann, Artistic Director and Chief Representative of Leica Galleries International; Alec Soth, photographer for Magnum Photos; and Li Changzhu, vice president of the Huawei mobile phone range

The global winner of this contest will receive $ 20,000, a phone Huawei P20 Pro and a laptop Huawei MateBook X Pro .

There will also be a winner for each category who will receive a Huawei P20 Pro and a Huawei MateBook X Pro laptop, as well as 50 finalists who will receive a P20 Pro phone.

One of the requirements of the contest is that the photos must have been taken with a Huawei mobile device. Each participant can send up to 30 works . According to the basis of the competition each work consists of a single photo, a "story board" of 3×3 photos, or a video file. The same image can participate in different categories.

Interested persons can register until August 31, 2018. The semi-finalists will be announced on September 17 and the winners will be announced on September 24th.
