One in three mobile lines are already 4G in Latin America

According to the report sent by 5G Americas to iProfesional in the region, a total of 697 million active mobile lines were suppressed for the same period, with the participation of 4G LTE. compared to second generation (2G) and third generation (3G) technologies, it reached 34.6%. This means that one in three Latin American mobile lines already have 4G LTE technology.

"These figures represent a clear improvement over the previous year, while LTE technology reached 159 million lines and its participation was limited to one, 23%," said the organization.

By the end of 2018, the LTE is expected to reach 258 million lines and increase its stake to 36%, according to Ovum's forecast. In the meantime, its expansion will be extended to 504 million lines and 64% of the total mobile lines.
