An investigation could rewrite part of the theory of human evolution – 07/11/2018

A group of researchers from the University of Oxford determined that the human species initially evolved into scattered and isolated populations in Africa in contradiction with the usual narrative .

Extended theory argues that "Homo sapiens" grew from a single ancestral population in a region of Africa about 300,000 years ago.

. Eleanor Scerri, a scientist at Oxford University, concluded that early humans understood a pan-African metapopulation " subdivided, shifting and with physical and cultural diversity."

"This corresponds to a subdivided population model in which genetic exchanges are not random or frequent and allows us to begin to detail the processes that have shaped our evolutionary history," he said. Scerri, published by the specialized magazine Cell Press

Natural barriers, such as rivers, deserts and forests, which separated these populations, created opportunities for migration and contact between previously separated groups

which note that there was mixing and isolation of populations from the extreme south to the coasts of North Africa, is more compatible with fossil and genetic data than any one population model.

Fossils of "Homo sapiens" combined with inferences made from contemporary DNA samples suggest levels of human diversity e early who supported the evolution of the subdivided population model of researchers.
