The Epidemiological Bulletin prepared by the Department of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Health published new cases of syphilis from 1 January to 30 June this year.
The report revealed that, in 2010, there were 3,372 new cases identified, which reached 5,961 last year. In the first six months of this year, 3,003 people were identified, 6% more than in 2017 during the same period.
The 15-49 age group accounts for 82% of all cases, with the highest risk being between 20 and 39 years of age.

Prevention

The discomfort may disappear even without treatment, but it means that the disease continues to evolve slowly.
Advanced Stadium
According to the Planned Parenthood slogan, people with syphilis can have serious health problems at an advanced stage. Tumors, blindness and paralysis may appear. This can damage the nervous system, the brain and other organs.
In the beginning, the infection is easy to heal. However, damage at an advanced stage is irreparable.
