The increasing number of people infected with the AIDS virus has triggered the alarm among Ibague health authorities. The biggest concern concerns the ages of infection, which are usually between 15 and 25 years old.

Gelver Dimas Gómez, secretary of the municipal health, said that in 2017, 193 people were infected with the virus, 33 more than in 2016, 160 infected people were reported.

So far this year, 75 HIV-positive people have been reported, so the official reminded the importance of self-care practice and the habit of undergoing tests to detect the disease. to initiate treatments to patients.
