Ecofriday was launched in Argentina in 2016 for sustainable development. Currently, the initiative has the institutional support of the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development of the nation.

Since its inception in 2016, a total of 18,000 products have been sold and more than 170 companies have participated, including 80 sustainable entrepreneurs from all over Argentina. According to the official report of Mercado Libre, in the latest edition of EcoFriday, more than 8,000 products have been sold in the region, representing an increase of more than 200% compared to the 2016 edition.
