Las Condes delivers a book containing tips to avoid falling into telephone fraud

If between January and June 2017 there were 126 complaints that the carabinieri received for telephone fraud in Las Condes, this year there are 152, which implies an increase of 17%. Prior to this, Mayor Joaqun Lavn and Carabineros distributed a handbook to residents of this municipality, with recommendations not to fall into the "story of".

According to the mayor, these calls are made, mainly, from the nurseries, in order to deceive preferentially "older adults who live alone and children who answer the phone."

Lavn also announced that the municipality is planning two courses in July, in which safety tips will be delivered. "Among the tips, perhaps the most important is that families have a keyword," he said. Other recommendations are, for example, to avoid publishing information on social networks, and in case of scam, call the phone number of municipal security (1402) or 133.
