New Director of the National Service of the Elderly is appointed

After a process through the Public Senior Management System, President Sebastián Piñera appointed the new director of the service of the National Service of Seniors (Senama) of the Ministry of Social Development

He is the lawyer of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Octavio Vergara Andueza Master in Public Administration and Management from University College London, in addition to having a degree in Social Gerontology and Prevention and Management of Abuse in the Elderly.

Previously served as Executive Director of the Mayor's Opportunity Foundation and was Head Cabinet of the National Service of the Elderly between 2013 and 2014.

In addition, he was appointed Felipe Bettancourt Guglielmetti as Phosis Director. In this regard, Minister Alfredo Moreno welcomed the two professionals "who join our ministry to work with enthusiasm and enthusiasm in the tasks that public work imposes on us daily."

The two competitions began on October 8th. Last April, for the first time, Senama took part in a competition for the public management system. For this position, 252 applications were received, while for the national director of Phosis, there were 371 candidates.
