Razer opto-mechanical switch
The new Razer opto-mechanical switch is a sign of continued innovation in the brand's game switches. Using optical technology, the infrared light beam inside each switch accurately detects action when a key is pressed. A 1.5mm action point allows the Razer opto-mechanical switch to act 30% faster than traditional mechanical switches.
The Razer opto-mechanical switch provides faster performance without compromising sensitivity. It has the same activation and reset points to quickly press the keys as in a linear switch, and offers a tactile feel similar to that of the Razer Green switches with a lighter activation force of 45 gr . The life of a Razer opto-mechanical switch is estimated at 100 million pulses, double that of traditional mechanical switches. Through the use of optical activation technology and a metal stabilizer bar around each switch, there are fewer moving parts and the contact is eliminated during activation.
