Portal Pirque wishes a great day to the Fire Department of the province of Cordillera and to the country

In commemoration of June 30 as National Firefighter's Day, 167 years of the formation of the first fire department of Chile are celebrated

This celebration has its origins in the founding of the first department of firefighters of the country in Valparaíso, June 30, 1851. This commemoration was established in 1962 through a bill, signed by the President of the Republic at that time, Jorge Alessandri Rodríguez, and approved by the National Congress.
In 1970 the National Board of Firefighters was created and in 1988 the National Firefighters Academy of Chile was created to professionalize the volunteers.
Since then, this volunteer organization has been developing every day to offer citizenship service and care. in the event of an emergency fire in buildings, forest fires, traffic accidents, chemical emergencies, rescue at height, rescue of people, monitoring of disappearances climatic hazards, among others, risking their lives only for the motivation to serve others.

As part of this celebration, the Firemen of the Fifth Company of Pirque, Puente Alto and San José de Maipo visited various schools and kindergartens receiving affection and l '. admiring children from their community, they also conducted activities and simulations demonstrating that they are still present.
