Production of copper and gold declines in the first half | Trade | Economy | Peru

The domestic production of copper and gold recorded negative numbers at the end of the first half of 2018, according to data released by the Ministry of Agriculture. 39, Energy and Mining.

"It was only in June that domestic copper production dropped 3.4% from the previous month," said Minem based on figures from the General Mining Department.

On the other hand, the national production of gold totaled 69,324,654 fine grams in the first half of 2018, a figure that reflects a decrease of 4.9% by compared to the same period of the previous year.

Minem reported that the decrease in the precious metal was due to the lower volumes obtained by Minera Barrick Misquichilca Compañía de Minas Buenaventura and Minera Yanacocha in the period of badysis.

the Minem reported that the production of other metals increased in the first half: iron (9.8%), zinc (4.9%), molybdenum (2.6%) and tin (0 , 8%).
