In the outbuildings of the municipality of La Araucanía, a meeting was held Tuesday to badyze the progress and state of the bridges on the Cautín River.

Recall that last week the increase in flow caused the collapse of the old railway bridge that crosses the tributary.

This situation first led to the intermittent closure of the old bridge, which connects the towns of Temuco and Padre Las Casas, because of the preliminary risk that the railway structure is driven by the current and impacts the viaduct.

At present, the Old Bridge remains open for the transit of minor vehicles and public transport buses.

However, this measure could be reversed, taking into account the weather forecasts announced for La Araucanía in the coming days.

The meeting was chaired by Mayor Luis Mayol and counted with the participation of the mayors of the two affected municipalities.

As announced, the municipal leaders Miguel Becker and Juan Eduardo Delgado asked during the meeting the meccano bridge which is in the area of Bío Bío.

According to him, this could give a quick solution to the inhabitants of the region for the next three months.

As stated, the mayors would go to Santiago to formally request the bridge loan to the government.
