Australian authorities had to temporarily close a road after the heat had caused the asphalt to melt and destroyed the wheels of fifty vehicles.

The road in question is the Milla Malanda Mile and is located in the state of Queensland , northwest of the oceanic country. The pavement of this road had been renewed last week, but the intense heat and humidity did not allow the gravel to stabilize properly.

Then, with the temperature, the gravel began to spoil and get stuck in the vehicle tires.

A driver said:

"There were people who stopped on the roadside, completely incredulous about what had happened to their vehicles"

The tires were completely covered with a layer of asphalt of about ten, or even fifteen, centimeters in thickness.

Local authorities have promised to compensate drivers and drivers who have sustained damage to their vehicles.
