Muñoz, turned out to be the owner of the truck used in the theft of animals, however, he stated that the vehicle is actually his brother, known as el "Costino", who asked him to register on his behalf not to lose him in the divorce.
José Muñoz's legal situation changed because one of the victims who recognized him during the trial made an affidavit: Clarifies that he was confused with his brother.
"This was not the famous Costino, they have a similarity, but how I saw him as a pilot, on the other side where he was (…) It is unfair that he is imprisoned because of his brother.
José Muñoz, had declared that the day of events was in the Crescent of Pumanque, where he made charitable works with his friends in order to raise funds for his 26-year-old daughter, who suffers from a severe chronic neurological damage that keeps her prostrate.
