The archaeological sites of Egypt still hide secrets that are discovered every day by scientists and researchers from around the world, especially in the region of Alexandria where much of of ancient Egyptian civilization lived thousands of years ago.

However, the new discovery made by a group of archaeologists has left surprising the antiquities ministry of this country: a solid black granite sarcophagus without marks or designs that identify it , and with a huge white alabaster head.

One of the most commented details of the sarcophagus is its height, 2.35 meters long and 1.65 wide, that is the largest object of this type found in the region of Alexandria .

The discovery was announced through a publication made on Facebook, where Dr. Mostafa Waziri, secretary-general at the Supreme Council of Antiquities of Egypt, explained that it is suspected that the sarcophagus belongs to an inhabitant of the period Ptolemaic .

In other words, this sarcophagus ] was created at a time when the Egyptian civilization had contacted the Roman people.
