British police identified a small bottle containing the nerve agent Novichok as being the source of poisoning a couple in the English town of Amesbury, Scotland Yard.
The man, aged 45, regained consciousness, but continued serious, while the 44-year-old woman died Sunday. The nerve agent is the same one used in the attack against the former Russian double agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter a few months ago.
Scotland Yard reported that the bottle had been found in the man's house in Amesbury. Tests showed that the bottle contained Novichok. What is still unclear, is how it happened in man
Now, it must be checked, according to the police, if the poison comes from the same source that the substance with which the Skripal were attacked in the city of Salisbury. . Investigators believe that both facts are likely to be related.
London accuses Moscow of being behind the attack on the Skripal. If the relationship between the two cases is proven, it will increase the tension between London and Moscow.
Novichok was manufactured in the former Soviet Union, but it was later experimented in other countries. The Kremlin rejects the accusations.
