Many questions were asked about what would happen if the Earth began to turn from the other side from its formation. And as published this Monday morning by the scientific video channel, SciShow, time would be one of the major points that would be heavily affected.
If that happened, it would be the Coriolis effect which explains that the trajectory of something moving in another object in rotation is curved. An example of this is the sunrise and sunset, which would change direction. Winds such as ocean turns or current loops are another example of what would happen.
As part of the General Assembly of the European Geoscience Union the researchers presented the possible modifications in a simulation of Earth turning backwards for 7000 years. What was once the Sahara and the Middle East desert was completely covered with pastures and forests.
With respect to the previous example, no study can predict how much the actual effect of this situation could have been. The video gives an idea of how a part of our history has been changed by the simple fact that the Earth rotates from west to east.
