The S & P 500 extended a higher and closed Tuesday to a high since February 1, because the good results of PepsiCo Inc spurred optimism about the season of results.
Industrial Dow Jones rose to 142.87 points, or 0.58% to 24,919.46 units, while the S & P 500 gained 9 , 66 points or 0.35%, at 2 793,83 units. The Nasdaq rose by 3 points, or 0.04%, to 7,759.20 units.
