CNN White House correspondent MJ Lee, author of the controversial report, defended his reporting on social media, calling Fauci a “remnant of the Trump administration.”

Lee also tried to build on President Biden’s earlier comments to validate his report, tweeting: “In the last hour, Biden said Trump’s vaccine rollout was a ‘dismal failure.’

The CNN reporter has been mocked by critics for referring to the Fauci as a “holdover” from President Trump.
